Runoff Continues

June 7, 2010

We are in the second solid week of runoff and the creeks are completely enveloped in their spring time joy, so be careful around them.  We are expecting rain and a little more snow in the mountains this week.  Hopefully, we will get more rain than snow the next few weeks.  More snow means a longer runoff season.  The lakes and reservoirs are all fishing good right now for those with the still water skills and patience.  The area fisherman have caught some 4 to 12 pound fish already this season.  Sooooo sweet.  I suspect the run off will be normal this season, which means early July will be when fishing gets going good.    I will keep this page updated with short notes monitoring the run off and fishing.

A quick note:  Some people have found the N.F. Tongue open to fishing.   Not a lot of fish being caught, but the usual size and fun on nymphs are the cold water answers.  Cold, high, fast and  O.K. clarity are the current conditions.   No dry fly yet.

Thanks for stopping by.            Roger
