March 2011 Fishing Report

March 16, 2011

The lower creeks and streams like Tongue Canyon and Clear Creek by Buffalo are mostly open as of this week.  Fishing is available and fish are responding to a variety of patterns.  Some have been lucky enough to land some fish 16 -20 inches already this season.  The upper creeks and streams are all frozen and inaccessible as yet in the Bighorn Mountains.  The other side of the mountain in Shell and West Ten Sleep Canyons are also open to fishing.

The lakes and reservoirs are all still frozen.  Ice fishing is the option for now.

The Mountain is under feet of snow so snow machine, cross country skiing or snow shoeing into lakes for Ice fishing are the only options for now.

Will update as the fishing comes available.
