We are getting rain. A lot of rain. Our creeks are swollen and run off has not started as yet. In fact, the mountain is getting more snow in spots. We are expecting warmer rainy weather, which should start run off. Sorry to all those down stream from Wyoming and Montana, you will be getting worse flooding. I expect at this time our creeks and rivers will be blown out until at least early July. This is normal run off. The hard part to predict is how late will the run off be and how high will the waters be in July. The creeks should be clear in July, they will just be high and cold for the first couple of weeks to three weeks of July. I will keep you all posted as best I can.
Mean while, the lakes and reservoirs will be fishing great this whole time of runoff. I expect a great year of fly fishing and the fish will be heaver and hopefully longer this season. I hope you all come out to enjoy our fishing this season. Come out and spend a week camping, enjoying and fishing our Bighorn Mountains. It is a great vacation, and you can save some money by staying in one area and camping in your favorite tent or trailer.
I look forward to seeing all you fly fishing people and helping you all catch more fish.
