PRIVATE WATERS:
Piney Creek – Wuthier Ranch
The Wuthier Ranch Piney Creek is our premier water. Brown trout reach sizes up to 4 pounds and 24 inches. The average Brown or Rainbow trout is between 14 and 18 inches. There are three miles of great water on this ranch that we have divided into three sections. Each section is limited to two fisherman per day with a maximum of 6 people per day on the water. We try to rest each section at least a full day before fishing it again. It is not uncommon in the spring and fall to have a section of water rested a week or more. July and August are our most popular times to fish this water, but May and September are greatly overlooked. June is a tough time to fish the streams due to snow melt off the mountain.
The Reservoirs – Folded Hills Ranch
The reservoirs are our premier still water fishing. We have Great fishing from April to October with July and August being the slow time for the reservoirs. The fish in the reservoirs average 3-7 pounds with some fish reaching over 10 pounds. The largest fish was well over 15 pounds. There are mainly rainbows with some browns in the reservoirs. The skills and techniques necessary for fishing the reservoirs are more advanced in the summer time than the spring and fall.
North Fork of the Powder River – Hatt Ranch
The North Fork of the Powder River is a special piece of water. We call it our Gem. The trout are good sized 12-17 inches, the water is diverse with over 10 miles to choose from and the area is remote. The water is about 90 miles from Sheridan, but it is worth every mile. This water is one we have to book in advance, so call early days fill fast.
Poison Creek – Folded Hills Ranch
This is a private piece of the mountain. A beautiful mountain creek with average fish under 13 inches. It is about a mile of mountain meadow stream with Brookies, Browns and Rainbows that are active eaters. We have some great fun on this water.
