The
foothills of the Wyoming Big Horns as well as the agricultural lands, creek
bottoms, and brushy draws, present a diverse and rewarding opportunity for
the upland bird hunter. |
Wild, early release, and
preserve pheasant. Wild, early release, and preserve Hungarian partridge.
Wild, early release, and preserve chukar, wild sharp tailed grouse. Wild
geese and ducks. All on 40,000 acres of private lease with about 10,000 acres
under private shooting preserve.

Waterfowl
are hunted mostly over decoys from blinds. The only exception being ducks
which we jump shoot between some smaller ponds and reservoirs. Labrador
retrievers are used to retrieve waterfowl. Labs are also used in the dense
cover of our bottoms for Ring Neck Pheasant. Some of these are pointing Labs
who although are not staunch pointers, will advertise a bird before flushing
it. Grouse are hunted over either flushing or pointing dogs; depending on the
situation. Partridge are hunted in open country over English and Elhew
Pointers. These are very staunch pointing dogs who do a great job.
Our
bird populations consist of wild waterfowl, wild sharp-tailed grouse,
wild-early release-preserve pheasant, and wild-early release-preserve
partridge. We release only MacFarlane-raised game birds. These are the
greatest “Flight Ready Birds” that we know of. Show us a better game bird, and
we will buy it. For more information on MacFarlane Birds; go to
MacFarlane Pheasants Inc.
We have to abide by State Limits on all
waterfowl and grouse. On pheasant and partridge of which we release the
required number per year; there are no limits.
All hunting is on
private property. We prefer groups of from three to six hunters; but can work
with larger groups and corporate groups up to 21. For large groups, call our
toll-free number for price and availability - 1-800-253-5866.
Note: If you have your own hunting group of from 3 to 8 hunters, it
is fine to bring your own dogs. If we have to mix hunters up; then we can’t
allow it. We have just had too many disasters where birds are flushed out of
range, etc. The exception being if we have hunted over your dog before and
approve of it.

Training? We
are often asked, "when do you train your bird dogs"? Our answer is
always one word - constantly. We buy dogs from the finest blood
lines. We have them started by professional dog trainers and then we
work with them every single day. |

The Pointing Dog: His nose is second only to the
bloodhound. He moves with the grace and agility of a cat, making the
pointing dog our favorite for open country hunting.
The
Labrador: He is equally
as powerful in the field and in the water. He can stand both extreme
cold and extreme heat. The Labrador is our overwhelming favorite for
both water fowl and dense cover upland hunting. |

Rivers,
reservoirs, and low lying lakes offer
waterfowl
hunting through the early season, lasting until our waterways begin
freezing, usually around mid November.

Hungarian
Partridge are the most popular of our game birds. We also have
good populations of Chukar, Mourning Dove, Sharp-tailed Grouse, Ring-neck Pheasant, and
waterfowl.
